Online Photography Workshop
A VIRTUAL GUIDED TOUR of the Sussex coast, with a specific emphasis on long exposure, exploring light and tone along this varied landscape. From the busy seaside towns to the wild white cliffs overlooking the English channel, Sussex landscape photographer, Philip Bedford, will lead you through the various locations and offer technical advice and things to watch to fine tune your composition. You’ll also review some of the most inspirational long exposure master photographers, gaining inspiration from the masters of this niche genre of photography.
As the workshop is online, it will comprise three elements: – a detailed online briefing with the workshop leader (via Zoom) – individual (unaccompanied) on-location photographic shoot at a time to suit you – follow up image review and critique. Philip will create an itinerary to help you explore the region with the benefit of his knowledge including a follow up image review session. In the initial video conference Philip will provide an introduction to the locations, showing examples of his work, and inspirational work by others, discussing practical issues around parking, public facilities, sun positions and seasonal info, along with camera and editing techniques that he uses.
This workshop will take you along the Sussex coast, to places you’ll surely recognise, along with other more understated, but inspiring places to visit and leave your shutter open for a while. You’ll explore a range of different ideas and techniques, both in camera and in post-production. Four weeks later, after you have completed your location shoot and your digital image processing, you will meet again online with Philip and the other participants to share your images and receive feedback.
