Photography Course Summary

Would you like to push yourself to create images that are better lit, better composed and have a professional finish? Do you want to learn how to take better landscapes, portraits, still life or street/documentary photographs? Build you photography portfolio further and gain a nationally recognised qualification? You will learn how to utilise your cameras settings, use photography accessories and equipment to aid you in taking better photographs. Learn how to achieve consistent exposures through control of shutter speed and aperture and develop your creative and critical skills to improve your photography.
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop an understanding of photographic processes and the photo imaging industry. There will be opportunities to learn about, studio photography, commercial photography, documentary photography and your final outcome will be to produce and present a portfolio of photographic images. The course also covers digital image manipulation skills using photo editing software. The overall plan is for the first term in September to be online and then we’ll be back in the classroom as soon as is practicable and possible, most likely being Term 2 and 3.

You will learn how to utilise your cameras settings, how to achieve consistent exposures and how to develop your creative eye with focus driven tasks and continually support to help you develop into a better photographer.
This course is designed for students who wish to develop their skills in taking/making photographic images, giving emphasis in the principles of photo image capture. The course also covers digital image manipulation skills using Photoshop Elements. It is also appropriate for students who wish to progress on to further study and training in the Photography discipline.
Tuesdays 19.00 – 21.00 or Wednesdays 16.00 – 18.00
